Phone Phantom

One person that i counsel on the phone said i was like the phone phantom because they hear my voice but don't see me. Then she got the bright idea to write words to the song, "Music of the Night," from Phatom of the Opera.

Tell me
Secrets
Let your life unfold here
Wounds and
Secrets
That you have been hiding
Turn your thoughts away
From the many ways you’ve failed
Bring your wounded life into God’s holy light
Help me teach you how to make it right

Isn't that special?? :)

As a student of Phantom Of The Opera, I most noticed that the Phantom only was able to choose to do the right thing once he had been unmasked and shown unconditional love in the kiss he so desired, which was sacrificial on the part of Christine. Her ability to confront his wrong thoughts and actions were also an act of love.Ultimately it was his choice to do the right thing, or not, and he made the right choice. So in that regard, may you become less of a "phantom" over time.

It's much deeper than that. How much better to be a Raul. Using your wealth for good, your strength to bring strength to others, your actions revealing that people can be released from their struggle if they cooperate(like Christine did when she agreed to trap the Phantom), and to try to do the right thing in the midst of fear and at the risk of personal injury. All the phantom got was a kiss. It is Raul who received the treasure of having Christine for life. Remember that Christine first unmasked the Phantom out of her own curiosity. The second time she unmasked him was in public, knowing his rage when he is unmasked. But it was only in the unmasking that the killing was stopped. To be willing to be exposed to known madness and rage at your own expense, to help more than yourself is the ultimate in heroism don't you think. Ah but it is such thoughts as these, and the willingness to speak them that come at a great price. pc

The movie was visually incredible, and is available on DVD. I saw it twice in New York and my son took me to see the movie at Christmastime the year it came out. The son of my heart was the one who gave me the DVD I think. I watch it often. But then all good art can touch us with the reality of life if we let it. I dissect movies a lot. I like movies that have great character development.pc
